Eric Jones grew up in a rural Pentecostal church called Miracle Hill Revival Center, just outside of Bristol. His sister, Mary Herron, was the pastor, and the church was deeply rooted in his family's life. At 12, Eric gave his life to the Lord after witnessing his father do the same during a Sunday night service.
Though he loved God, his early view of Him was clouded by fear and a belief that any unconfessed sin could send him to hell. At 15, Eric moved in with his Baptist uncle. It was there he was baptized in the Holy Ghost, but without teaching or guidance, he didn’t understand he could pray in tongues regularly or what it meant. The day after his 17th birthday, Eric was suddenly gripped by intense fear and anxiety. He became convinced he had committed the unpardonable sin. Overwhelmed, his mom sought his help through psychiatrists, but their secular advice—like taking away his Bible—only deepened his despair. Desperate for answers, Eric visited a Christian bookstore looking for guidance. The clerk, upon hearing his story, prayed with him and helped him begin speaking in tongues again. She also directed him to an evangelist who ministered to him, planting the first seeds of healing.
Eric’s struggle worsened, leading to suicidal thoughts and significant weight loss. Eventually, he was admitted to the adolescent unit at Brookwood Hospital. There, divine intervention continued: his psychiatrist, Dr. Young, was a Christian and suggested to his mother to give Eric his bible back, and the newly hired psych nurse, Dusty Gamble, was a Spirit-filled pastor. Alongside teachings from Brother Hagin and the support of his father and the staff, Eric found true deliverance. In 1998, Eric joined a missions trip to Peru led by youth pastor Marcus Whitman. That trip changed everything. Over 20,000 children came to Christ, and Eric witnessed his first miracle: a deaf woman was instantly healed as he prayed. She collapsed under the power of God and stood up completely restored. He returned to Peru the next month with a smaller team and witnessed even more miracles. These experiences marked the beginning of Eric’s ministry — one defined by the power of God, compassion for the broken, and a deep understanding of healing and deliverance.
I want to be a part of taking the gospel to the ends of the earth!
